The evaluation of the works presented to the educational contest on “Road safety in focus of pupils” has been held by Azerbaijan National Automobile Club in Child-Youth Development Center #1.

The aim of the contest held with the financial support of The Council of State Support to NGOs under the Auspices of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and with the assistance of the Education Department of Baku as part of the project, is the identification of creative teenagers in secondary schools. For this purpose, the terms of the competition on five nominations (picture, poster, slogan, creative handicraft and video) were shared with schools in September-October, some work was done with the representatives of schools and presented materials were collected in the office of AMAK.

At the first stage it was expected that about 30 schools in Baku would take part in this contest. Nevertheless, a group of projects showed great interest in schools and, thus, provided conditions for all schools located in Baku. In a short time, with prompt and active support from the Baku Education Department, information on the contest was delivered to all schools in Baku. As a result, about 200 works on various nominations were submitted for the competition.

Presented works were registered, categorized by nominations and coded. The jury, consisting of the Chief of the Department of Public Affairs of the Central Traffic Police Department Vagif Asadov, employee of the Center for Development of Children and Youth Development No. 1 Farida Suleymanova and the artist Nagiya Rzayeva, summed up the results of the competition. Presented works were evaluated separately and awarded on each nominations.  The authors of 1–3 places were announced winners. Among them, in the process of assessing, the jury selected students who were awarded with 4-10 places.

At the final stage of the project, the winners will be awarded accordingly, and electronic and printed version of the catalog of the awarded works will be created. The printed catalog will be presented in the final event to the winners and representatives of their schools, as well as educational facilities and children’s and youth organizations. The final event will be held in the second half of November in the presence of mass media.
