AMAK is planning to attend the next international event which is the European Traffic Education Contest (ETEC), to be held in the capital city of Hungary Budapest, on 6-9 September 2018, by the initiative of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and hosted by the Automobile Club of Hungary. The main purpose of the event is to enhance knowledge of road safety in countries, which are member of FIA, reduce the risk of road crashes among bicycle driving children, as well as, encouraging Automobile Clubs to expand their road safety activities in their own countries.
Young road users are particularly at risk on the roads, because of their lack of experience and vulnerability. ETEC aims to intensify traffic education in every country and thereby contribute to reducing the risk of children becoming involved in accidents on their bicycles. The automobile clubs from 25 countries with participation of 4 children from each country (2 girls, 2 boys) and 2 group leaders will be represented at the contest.
This contest creates interactive learning environments along with various games to enhance the children's ability to move safely on the roads and prepare them as an exemplary representative of automobile clubs in their countries for the safe management of bicycles. ETEC helps many children acquire the skills they need to safely maneuver in today’s traffic, building on the Clubs and experts excellence and dedication. Its focus lies on providing these skills in a friendly learning environment, which allows children to perform well in the contest, but also to act as ambassadors of safe riding within their local communities. The event will also offer a unique opportunity for children across the continent to get together and show their skills and compete in a friendly environment, while enhancing their road safety culture.
AMAK together with its team will be representing Azerbaijan in this competition for the first time in its history. This competition will help AMAK to acquire international experience and successfully apply it back in Azerbaijan in the future. AMAK will join this competition with the contribution and support of “Gunay Insurance” and SOCAR Petrolium in the framework of “AMAK Friends” Corporate Social Responsibility Program and organizational support of Republican Olympic Cycling School.
