On 9-13 April 2019, the sixth Global meeting of nongovernmental organizations advocating for road safety organized by Global Alliance of NGOs on Road Safety with the sponsorship of International Automobile Federation is being held in Chania, Greece, for the 10th anniversary of Eastern Alliance for Safe and Sustainable Transport (EASST).
At the Global Meeting 270 NGOs, politicians, multilateral agencies, corporate stakeholders and road safety advocates will present their progress achieved so far. The main goal of NGOs is to reduce death tolls and serious injuries occurring in road crashes 50% by 2030.
On 11 April 2019 the president of AMAK, Vusal Rajabli gave a speech on post-crash actions in road incidents.
According to 4.0.5 point of “State Program of Azerbaijan Republic on Road Safety for 2019-2023” Vusal Rajabli highlighted the importance of improving first aid, strengthening educational activities among people, also close cooperation among state bodies in the crash and post-crash actions.
On the fourth day of that event on 12 April 2019, a symposium organized by the Global Alliance of NGOs on Road Safety and Towards Zero Foundation will be held. It is titled Road Injury Prevention and the Sustainable Development Goals and will culminate in the adoption of an NGO Declaration on Road Safety, to be submitted to the Third Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety, which will be held in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2020.
